The Rigbees: A Brief History
The Rigbees formed around a collection of solo acoustic demos recorded
by singer/songwriter Steve Brown. On the basis of the demos, the band
adopted a songs-come-first philosophy and has since forged a unique, dynamic
blend of rootsy, engaging and instantly accessible pop rock.
Each of the five members of The Rigbees brings their own musical influences,
tastes and experiences to the band's sound, while each shares a like-minded
interest in the craft of breathing life and energy into solid, well-honed
songs.
The Rigbees ever-expanding catalog of material offers driving, energetic
and heartfelt roots-rock as a backdrop for refreshing, original glimpses
into the life of Everyman in pursuit of truth, beauty, happiness and fulfillment
(read: a paycheck, a glass of beer, a day off and a lover they can understand).
At a Rigbees performance, the lyrical sincerity and powerful "friendliness"
of the music are what seem to instantly resonate with audiences both familiar
and new. A refreshing, engaging and uplifting on-stage romp through the
band's catalog could very well leave a Rigbees song looping in your head
for days.
The band has performed with national acts like Grammy-winners Train,
and has shared bills with bands including Buzz Zeemer, Tommy Conwell,
The Latin Playboys, Brothers Past and Town Hall to name just a few.
The Rigbees are five dedicated guys putting everything they've got into
their music with the goal of making it matter.
